A short ignition interruption of the automatic gearshift relieves the engaged gear, so that the next gear can be engaged completely load-free and smoothly. And this under full load. This circumstance places no stress on either the transmission or the clutch. The shifting process is therefore barely perceptible, runs silky smooth and is very precise. The “dynamics” stored in the ECU automatically ensures that the interruption time is slightly extended as the engine speed decreases. This eliminates the need for special gear and speed-dependent programming as with many other systems.

Mounting the IONIC on your motorcycle is absolutely easy. You simply place the sensor under the lock nut of the shift linkage or under the screw of the clamp to the shift shaft. And tighten the screw with exactly 9 Nm. If you have selected an optional “plug in” adapter cable for your motorcycle, you simply plug the “plug in” between the plugs of your spark plug connectors. All you have to do now is connect the ground terminal of the “plug in” cable to the frame or battery, done! All other impulses, like 12V supply, RPM impulse and the interruption will be done by the “plug in” adapter cable!

Also the programming of the IONIC is very simple. Consciously one has renounced all external aids, like cell phone or computer. So all options are made via a button and a small dial on the ECU of the automatic gearshift. Fast and absolutely simple.

In order to prevent a malfunction, e.g. an interruption when engaging the gear, a minimum speed can be set, from which the automatic gearshift starts to work. From delivery, this value is 3000 rpm. We set the interruption time to 70 ms at delivery. A value with which you can work completely without problems from our experience.

The basic version of the IONIC is designed for universal mounting. Optionally there is a “plug in” connection kit for most models (see menu above). If your motorcycle is not listed, please use the option ” universal cable set”. With this cable set, the IONIC can be connected to any motorcycle. With the detailed German instructions it is possible for the experienced rider or mechanic to mount the IONIC in a few steps.

The sensor of the Quickshifter can be mounted very easily on your motorcycle, because it is only placed under the clamping screw of the shift shaft, shift lever or under the lock nut of the shift rod. This ensures that everything remains original on your motorcycle, nothing has to be shortened, drilled or even a shift linkage on your motorcycle must be replaced. Please make sure that the cable exit of the sensor does not protrude outwards after installation. So you avoid in case of a fall that the cable of the sensor is torn off.

You should also pay close attention to the tightening torque of the sensor, so that it also works optimally. Please use a suitable torque wrench and tighten the sensor with exactly 9 Nm. If the sensor turns, you can put a M6 washer on both sides of the sensor. This way you can fix the sensor better.

The sensor can be mounted in any position and works as a pressure and tension sensor in one. So if you want to drive with a shift reversal on your motorcycle, this is possible with one and the same sensor.
